Overview: Designed by the architect of the Washington Monument, the historic Conway City Hall building was built in 1825 as the Horry County Courthouse. Today, it is the central landmark for the historic river town of Conway which is one of the oldest towns in South Carolina. The picturesque Conway Riverwalk enables visitors to stroll alongside one of South Carolina's most scenic black-water rivers.

Lewis Ocean Bay Heritage Preserve

Overview: Located off S.C. Highway 90, between Conway and Little River, the Lewis Ocean Bay Heritage Preserve was an Army Air Corps gunnery range during World War II. Today it is better known for its natural history - as the site of 23 mysterious Carolina bays and a pristine habitat for wildlife and rare vegetation.
Access Description: Limited access for certain activities according to DNR Rules.

Ronald McNair Memorial

Overview: Lake City is the birthplace of Dr. Ronald E. McNair, a NASA astronaut, who was killed in the explosion of the space shuttle Challenger in 1986. A monument at this site memorializes his life and career.
